Gaining Momentum
Building a future where women thrive.
International Women’s Day with WINS

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women driving change and the momentum building behind them.
Nadine Niba
As a new immigrant and student, Nadine Niba was doing everything she could to build a life in Canada , but behind her determination was exhaustion, uncertainty, and the quiet weight of almost giving up.
Then, during a chance encounter on a train, a stranger shared something that changed her path: WINS.
What followed was more than support — it was renewed hope, dignity, and momentum. Ten years later, Nadine stands as a powerful example of what can happen when women are supported at a critical moment.
Today, Nadine Niba is an award-winning business leader, bestselling author, and Alberta Regional Leader for Risk Advisory Services at BDO Canada LLP. She advises executive teams and boards on governance, enterprise risk, and technology risk.
She is the author of Quarterback: An Immigrant’s Guide to Corporate North America, an Amazon Canada #1 bestseller. Nadine is a board director, mentor, and respected voice on leadership, resilience, and immigrant success in corporate Canada.

Gaining Momentum at WINS
At WINS, gaining momentum means creating the conditions for women to thrive economically, professionally, and personally. Through intentional programs and community-driven support, we help turn potential into sustained progress.

Essential Support
Through our five Community Resource Hubs, we provide access to critical everyday essentials that help women and their families regain stability during times of transition. This includes hygiene products, small food hampers, transit assistance, cellular support, and household essentials. By meeting immediate needs with dignity and care, we help create the foundation for long-term progress.

Goal Support & Guidance
Through our Goal Support program, women receive personalized one-on-one guidance from our Community Support team. Together, we create tailored action plans aligned with individual needs and aspirations, while connecting women to trusted community resources, including support for domestic violence, immigration matters, and other complex challenges, so no one navigates their journey alone.

Employment Training
Our employment readiness and skills development programs equip women with practical tools, hands-on learning opportunities, and real-world preparation for the workforce. Through training, confidence-building, and career advancement support, we help women create clear pathways toward meaningful employment and long-term economic independence for themselves and their families.
