Empowering Education: Our Backpack Program with Inter Pipeline

Children receive backpacks for the new school year

This month, we proudly distributed 400 backpacks filled with essential school supplies, helping 141 families start the new school year with everything their children need to succeed.

At WINS, we believe that every child deserves the tools to succeed in school. This year, thanks to the incredible generosity of Inter Pipeline, we’ve been able to expand our Backpack Program, ensuring that more students than ever are ready to hit the ground running this school year.

The Power of a Backpack

A backpack isn’t just a bag; it’s a gateway to learning, a symbol of preparedness, and a boost of confidence for students walking into their classrooms. But not every family has the means to provide their children with all the necessary school supplies. That’s where our Backpack Program steps in.

A Donation That Makes a Difference

Inter Pipeline has stepped up in a big way by donating a range of backpacks in three different sizes, designed to suit students of all ages. But these aren’t just any backpacks. Each one comes pre-packed with the essential materials needed for the school year, carefully selected based on lists from the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) and the Catholic School Board.

Tailored for Success

We know that the needs of a first grader are different from those of a high school senior. That’s why each backpack was tailored to meet the specific needs of students according to their grade level. Whether it was crayons and notebooks for the younger kids or scientific calculators and binders for the older students, each backpack was a perfect fit for the academic journey ahead.

Supporting Our Community

This program is more than just a handout; it’s a hand up for families in our community. By providing these essential tools, we’re helping to alleviate some of the financial pressures that back-to-school season can bring. It’s about making sure every student has a fair chance to succeed, regardless of their circumstances.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We extend our deepest gratitude to Inter Pipeline for their partnership and their commitment to supporting families in need in our community. Their contribution has made a tangible difference in the lives of many students, setting them up for success in the coming school year.

If you’re inspired by this initiative and want to support WINS' mission, there are several ways you can get involved. Whether it’s through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word, every bit of support helps. Together, we can continue to empower the next generation of learners. Learn more.

Together, Everyone Wins!
