Connecting Calgary Families with Essential Resources to Thrive

Updated: Jul 31, 2023

We focus on empowering families in our community by connecting them with the resources they need to thrive in Calgary.

We have been overwhelmed with the demand for assistance and we are happy to cater to the increasing need. We are proud to to announce that we have recently opened a new Community Resource Hub in Lincoln Park. In 2022, we gave out a total amount of $567,294 in free goods, and this year alone we have given away $400,000 - in just 6 months!

The Community Resource Hub is a place where people can come and get connected with services, find help, and support. At WINS, we want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to be included and thrive in Calgary.

WINS provides compassionate listening and guidance, access to supports, and referrals to women, men, and their families who may be facing barriers due to:

  • Financial Challenges

  • Leaving or currently in difficult situations

  • Transitioning in Housing Needs

  • Being a new arrival in Calgary

  • Being a Single Parent

When you visit one of our Community Resource Hubs, you can get connected with our dedicated team and they would be able to help you with your needs. These includes emotional support, skills development, employment services, and goal support. We provide:

  • Advocacy, Compassionate listening and guidance

  • Connections to basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter

  • Referrals to other partner agencies for additional support

  • Goal Management Support

Community support like this can change the whole rhythm of family life. When people have access to clothing, household items, and practical help, it creates breathing room for everything else, work, parenting, school, and simply feeling more stable. I always think the strongest communities are the ones that make dignity part of the support they offer. The numbers here are impressive, but what stands out even more is the real relief behind them. I’ve read all kinds of stories online, even on pages like https://goodwill.pissedconsumer.com/review.html , and they always remind me how much people value help that feels accessible and respectful. Resources like this truly make a difference.

What makes drive mad unforgettable is how it transforms simple driving into emotional highs and lows. One moment you’re confident, the next you’re restarting, but every failure fuels the desire to push forward and beat the level.
